The Billmeyer Limestone Quarry in Bainbridge, PA was once a thriving operation that supplied lime to farmers and dolomite to steel mills. After flooding in 1961, it became a popular spot for Scuba divers, although several fatalities occurred due to errors in judgment. The quarry's buildings deteriorated over time until they were demolished in 2007. The author visited the quarry with their girlfriend, exploring the impressive structures and finding old documents. On a subsequent visit, they were disappointed to find the site in the midst of demolition.
